BENNY WALKER

BENNY WALKER

His love songs and epic tales are mixed with passion for people, the land, summer vibes and deep grooves that reach the soul. Benny mixes Blues n Roots with a contemporary guitar driven soul vibe.

CLAPS

Claps are a firebrand of cosmic jazz energy, agitators of tradition and hotheaded jazz punks; an instrumental quintet that blends house, broken beat and drum and bass rhythms with unhinged jazz improvisation to create a dark, kaleidoscopic dance music experience. With members from The Rookies, Honey and Z.F.E.X. and an uncompromising search for a distinct and immersive sound, Claps pushes listeners and dancers out of their comfort zone and into heightened states of bodily perception.

DON GLORI

Don Glori has quietly and quickly established himself as an artist on the move; emerging from Naarm’s bubbling melting pot of creativity and flung out into orbit. This is a band that knows the real power of restraint, expertly riding the waves of tension and cresting along the edge of release - yet doesn’t shy away from the raw cocktail of a good smoke machine, sloshing hi-hats and a dirty fuzz pedal. Hard to describe and even harder to forget, there’s no wonder that this project continues to capture hearts and pique ears on an international level.

KUZCO

Kuzco [kuuz-co] is an Australian/ Maori producer living and creating in Naarm after growing up in Meanjin. A focal member of groups like Middle Name Dance Band, Mon Riser as well as session keyboardist for Harvey Sutherland and Horatio Luna, Kuzco is now working to bring her own creations to the public eye. In her own words the intention is to write music that activates the sensuality of feeling music in the body and reigniting the self with fluid movement.

BUMPY

BUMPY

Adopting her childhood nickname — adorned due to a knack for bumping into all kinds of obstacles — Bumpy pulls from the strength found in tenderness, scars and all. The Noongar woman and Naarm artist’s stirring voice is transportive, arresting listeners with complex, intimate and multi-faceted truths of loss, joy and connection.

THE COLLINGWOOD CASANOVAS

Hot bluegrass picking and sweet harmony singing from 5 of Naarm/ Melbourne's hopeless romantics.  The Collingwood Casanovas play a mixture of traditional bluegrass music from the hills of Appalachia and new original music inspired by local life and experiences.

FLOODLIGHTS

FLOODLIGHTS make raw, honest, dynamic rock music that melds ’80s alternative rock with ’90s New Zealand jangle-pop. The four-piece tackle Australia’s troubled cultural identity through candid honesty and their distinct, biting garage sound. Their live performance is intimate at times, intertwined with large powerful outbursts.

MZRIZK

Award winning Lebanese Australian DJ, radio presenter and event curator, MzRizk is a self-taught, community embodied, creative chameleon who has garnered widespread acclaim as on of Melbourne’s most respected house, jazz, soul, disco, hip-hop and arabic music savant. CASH SAVAGE & THE LAST DRINKS

In an era when the world is falling apart with such a deafening roar, Cash Savage’s voice rings loud over the cacophony. With her songs of politics, grief and rage, Savage’s music is weighty and has been written to cut through the noise.

C.W. STONEKING & HIS PRIMITIVE HORN ORCHESTRA

C.W. Stoneking is an artist for whom ‘unexpected’ is probably the default setting. How else to describe such a fine purveyor of American roots music who also happens to be a towering, youthful-faced white Australian man? He surprises first-time listeners, throws curveballs at long-time fans, and everything he does contains at least some background level of bafflement for all involved.

GLASS BEAMS

The enigmatic Naarm (Melbourne) based Glass Beams radiates a psychedelia rendered with cyclical riffs and dizzying melodies. Showcasing an inclination for cosmic instrumentation, eastern scales and kraut pervaded polyrhythms that lend from a profusion of sounds and influences. Glass Beams self-recorded studio material, awakens into an immersive live show; hypnotic renditions of the songs performed by a masked quartet.

SURPRISE CHEF

Surprise Chef’s music is based on evoking mood; their vivid arrangements utilize time and space to build soundscapes that invite the listener into their world. The quintet’s distinct sound pulls from 70s film scores, the funkier side of jazz, and the samples that form the foundation of hip hop. They push the boundaries of instrumental soul and funk with their own approach honed by countless hours in the studio.

CHARLY

Charly is Mia Tinkler, originally from Naarm (Melbourne) but based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Last year's debut release 'Under This' heard wandering, warm guitar tones and raw, jazzy, vocals. Since then, the music has shifted to bring notes of queer art-pop and lo-fi R&B, while keeping an undercurrent of folk mood.

WAX’O PARADISO

Soundtracking the cosmic verandah of Howard Arkley’s suburban weatherboard paradise, Wax’o Paradiso’s splendid krautback discoteque consists of magic possums, Edd Fisher and Simon TK.
United by a firm belief that Pavlova is indeed the Queen of the dessert, the Wax’o Paradiso family is hell bent on getting you hell bent.
